Congratulations to Mr. Berndt and his newsletter staff!

As such, they have earned the right to display the Exemplary Publication Seal on the newsletter and our website throughout 2007.  Great job Tim!

BUILDING FUTURES GRANTS RECIPIENTS

Congratulations to Chuck Taylor, Carol Hodges and Paige Swaim! All three have been selected to receive $1000 grants from the Building Futures Grants program.  This is the first time LMS has been the recipient of three different grants!  Mr. Taylor’s grant, entitled   "After school beginning band class," is designed to help beginning musicians master the art of music.  Ms. Swaim’s grant, entitled "A Fresh Start for a Unique Group," is designed to help her special needs population achieve at the highest levels they can.  Mrs. Hodges’ grant, entitled “Improving Reading Skills through Audio Books,” is designed to help reluctant readers develop a love of books and reading.  Congratulations again to all three staff members!  We would also like to thank all of you who submitted applications and encourage you to do so again next year.

OUR SCHOOL STORE

Dr. Kelly, Mr. Girard and all of us here at LMS are proud to announce the opening of our new school store!  Here, our students can purchase goggles for science labs, poster board, pencils, and much more.  The school store is open weekdays from 8:50 to 9:05 AM.  Thanks to Mr. Girard and his student and teacher helpers for the outstanding work they put forth to make this a success!
