Lynnhaven Middle School was delighted to hear the news that our own Ms. Rebecca Gurley was chosen as the VBCPS Teacher of the Year.  Ms. Gurley is an example to us all, being the epitome of the teaching profession and a leader in her area of expertise.  Dr. Timothy Jenny was on hand to announce the selection of Ms. Gurley at a faculty meeting in May of 2003.  Congrats, Ms. Gurley, and good luck in the future.

We are also elated to announce the fact that Ms. Gurley was selected to be the regional Teacher of the Year.  Ms. Gurley will now contniue representing VBCPS at the Virginia State Teacher of the Year selections.  We could not be more proud of Ms. Gurley.......a truly outstanding educator.

February,2004 Lynnhaven Middle School's favorite angler, Mrs. Carolyn Brown, was honored by the Virginia Beach City Council for her Virginia record-setting striped bass catch.  Mrs. Brown's catch, weighing in at a tremendous 63 pounds, must be considered  the "catch of a lifetime."
To know Mrs. Brown is to think.....this could not have happened to a nicer and more wonderful person.  Way to go Carolyn!
