Our Idea

Students will investigate a local environmental issue by designing and constructing an outdoor classroom within a rain garden.  The investigation will allow them to use various strategies that teach cooperation, teamwork, problem solving techniques, and hands-on activities.  The project provides an opportunity for students to get back to nature by giving back to nature.  As a result of the interdisciplinary approach, the journey will engage students in understanding their role as stewards of their community and how small actions can contribute to the ecological value of the Lynnhaven River Watershed.
